About Hailu Law
The founder of the law firm, Mr. Thomas Hailu, earned his graduate law degrees from the University of Georgia Law School in Athens, Georgia and from George Washington University Law School in Washington DC. Mr. Hailu also earned his LL.B from Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia.
Before launching the Law Office in 2001, Attorney Hailu worked at the United States Department of Justice Civil Rights Division where he worked in the areas of employment discrimination and enforcement of disability laws. Prior to that, he worked at the Office of General counsel in the Democratic Party headquarters (Democratic National Committee) in Washington DC.
Attorney Hailu is licensed to practice law in the commonwealth of Virginia, the State of Maryland and Washington D.C. He is also admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in Richmond, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco, US District Court for the Eastern District Court of Virginia as well as the US Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District Court in Virginia. Mr. Hailu is also a member of the American Association for Justice (formerly known as American Trial Lawyers Association) and the Virginian Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Hailu had argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit Court in Richmond and Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco.
